Material samples for Emirates Lunar Mission with Ms.Laura Borella – [Aspiring young scientist & PhD candidate at ULB – Université libre de Bruxelles.]

Material samples for Emirates Lunar Mission-Research dialogue were organized by Eco Astronomy Inc and Eco Astronomy Sri Lanka. These dialogues are an initiative that aims to enhance the professional approach of developing a multidisciplinary type of broad view for both Astrobiology and Space industry. For this valuable lecture, our special key speaker is Ms. Laura Borella

Laura completed her master in TU Berlin and worked for DLR (German Aerospace agency) for more than a year. She was in the system engineering department working for MMX (Martian Moon eXploration) and ReFex (Reusability flight experiment) missions. During her employment, she was in charge of a feasibility study of a gravimeter (currently under review for a patent qualification), Laura was actively involved in the mock up structure test campaign for the MMX rover in the LAMA (Landing and Mobility Test) facility and the FTS (Flight Termination System) for ReFex. She is currently in her second year of Phd in Brussels at the Microgravity Research Center, where she had the opportunity to participate in 2 parabolic flight campaigns. The topic of her research is about insulating materials with ISRU (In – Situ Resources Utilization) for the Moon with the aim to develop shields for thermal protection for the rovers.
