SPACE ROBOTICS & AI/COMPUTER VISION
Guest speaker : Karishma Inamdar [ Roboticists | Computer Vision Engineer | Analog Astronaut | Founder of The Next Space Generation]
Karishma Inamdar is a Roboticist and Computer Vision Engineer who grew up in India, earned her Master’s degree in Space Science in France, and has been advancing her career in the United States. She specializes in robotics and artificial intelligence, with expertise in computer vision and machine learning to design advanced methods for various autonomous systems on land, in the air, underwater, and in space.
She began her journey at NASA’s Ames Research Center, where she contributed to pioneering projects in autonomous robotics. Since then, Karishma has worked on UAVs, climbing robots, small underwater submersibles for icy moon exploration, and autonomous satellite technologies.
She is also an analog astronaut, having completed missions with NASA’s Johnson Space Center to support research for future lunar surface operations in Artemis. Beyond her technical career, Karishma is deeply passionate about space outreach and education. She founded The Next Space Generation, an initiative that inspires and guides students through space camps, lectures, and mentoring, helping them understand how robotics, AI, and the interdisciplinary nature of the space industry are driving the future of space exploration.
