ASTROBIOLOGY, PALENTOLOGY INVESTIGATION AND OUTREACH PROGRAMME IN SRI LANKA | 2024

The Astrobiology, Paleontology Investigation, and Outreach Programme in Sri Lanka | 2024 was successfully held under the auspices of the Eco Astronomy Inc International Research Unit, marking a significant milestone in advancing research and knowledge in astrobiology and fossil science within the country. This groundbreaking event featured the participation of distinguished scientists, including Professor Richard Hoover, a world-renowned astrobiologist with 46 years of service at NASA, and Aravinda Ravibhanu, a Sri Lankan scientist acclaimed for creating the highest-quality Martian rocks in the world. The program also included contributions from Dr. Eng. Majda Aouititen, Director Academic Eco Astronomy Inc Network and international ambassador at Beijing Forestry University; Dr. Henry Throop, Program Scientist in the Planetary Science Division at NASA Headquarters; and Dr. Jason Kennedy, Senior Lecturer in Animation, Visual Effects, and Game Design at Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand. With the participation of approximately 200 selected students passionate about astrobiology, astronomy, and paleontology, this initiative is a vital step toward nurturing future professional scientists in Sri Lanka. The nation owes immense gratitude to Aravinda Ravibhanu and the Eco Astronomy Inc team, who have dedicated the past 13 years to establishing commercial and industrial astronomy in Sri Lanka, paving the way for scientific excellence and innovation.
